Ministry in Kosovo |
|
The majority of Comenserv's foreign work is done in the world's newest nation, Kosovo. We serve several projects in three different cities. We can also announce that CNS is going to start a new Christian Church in Prishtina this autumn! It will welcome all people, but cater to the internationals who live in the capitol. To the south of Prishtina is Suhareka. In this charming town, CNS operates a first-rate tutoring program that teaches English and Mathematics. The teachers there are Rifat and Xhevriaj Gashi. This young couple is dedicated to the Lord's work, and they are always quick to share the Gospel with their students. Programs like this are appreciated in Kosovo, and the parents are pleased Comenserv is around to help. Last March we started to meet on Sunday mornings for worship in the Suhareka office. This new group of believers is in its infancy, and your prayers for their growth are much appreciated. To the south of Suhareka is Kosovo's oldest and most traditional city, Prizren. CNS has had a church there since 2003, and we've given ownership over to a native Kosovar. It is not practical to name him online, but write us (info@comenserv) if you’d like more information. One of our goals at CNS is to let locals run the churches just as soon as it's possible. The preacher is a good friend of Mike Grooms, and they spent many hours together in Bible study and discussion. |
